This new edition is an update using magnetics manufacturers' latest catalogues. We have also broadened our database by adding more magnetic manufacturers. We have increased core data to include the latest magnetic materials, such as Kool Mu, Metglas, and Ferrite materials. We have also updated the laminations, C cores, tape toroidal cores, and ferrites.

Manufacturers of magnetic cores use a variety of measurement systems to describe their products, a practice which complicates the task of comparing and selecting cores. This innovative, new reference compiles the specifications of over 12,000 cores, all converted to (cgs) units, thereby enabling engineers to quickly compare the components and select the one best suited to their needs.

With most of the data in tabular form for easy access, this data now easily illustrates that cores can have the same area product, Ap, or core geometry, Kg, coefficient, but different size configuration. Using this information, it is possible to determine, at a glance, whether a particular design or core configuration will work, or what alterations need to be made. This encyclopedic volume also offers 49 manufacturer's core loss, data curves and equations. There is a multitude of data in this book, such as manufacturer's cross reference, transformer mounting brackets, design guidelines, design equations, design examples, and power switching circuits.
